The Best minn kota trolling motor

Whether it is the primary or secondary form of propulsion on an angler’s boat, a trolling motor is a self-contained unit that can be lifted up out of the water when not in use. There are times when it is connected to the bow – and sometimes to the stern. It has various uses . When used as a secondary form of propulsion, it’s used for trolling for game fish and usually mounted on the transom next to the primary motor. It allows for more precise positioning of the boat so that the person fishing can cast the bait where the fish are located
Trolling motors are generally designed with a DC electric motor that uses 12-volt deep cycle batteries for power. The motors are sealed into a watertight box at the end of a shaft and are submerged when operating . Tiller steering is most common, with speed control normally located on the top of the unit. Trolling motors controlled by hand attach to the boat with clamps.
For smaller watercraft like canoes and kayaks, trolling motors may be used as a primary source of automatic propulsion. Minn Kota, a company based in Racine, Wisconsin, is one brand of trolling motors. The company makes both fresh water and salt water motors in over a dozen different models, all of which have engine shafts made of composite materials designed for long wear. minn kota trolling motors for salt water are made with materials that resist salt water corrosion.
Minn Kota also makes the i-Pilot, which is a GPS-based control system for some of its trolling motors. It utilizes GPS technology for navigation and locating that does not require hands-on operation. Available on certain Terrova and Riptide models, it has cruise control and a feature that allows fishermen to record a fishing track of up to two miles and store it in memory so that it can be precisely retraced on a later fishing trip.
The Riptide series of trolling motors are saltwater trolling motors made for the harsh conditions of saltwater immersion. Any metal-on-metal interfaces feature composite bushings for isolation, which reduces wear and makes the motor very quiet. The tiller steering system is customizable in terms of tilt angle and length. And they offer the Lift-Assist gas-charged spring which is built-in with the bow mount, which makes it easier to lift the motor in and out of the water.
The Traxxis is a transom-mounted freshwater trolling motor from Minn Kota, with features designed to assist in deploying, stowing, steering, and depth adjustment. Transom motors have somewhat of a reputation for being difficult to operate, but the Traxxis is designed for one-hand stowing with no push buttons or release levers. Like the Riptide versions , the tiller steering is adjustable in terms of handle angle and length. It also has a cam lock depth adjustment which is unlike the more typical tension knob depth control. It features the Traxxis’ depth to be precisely fixed , without slipping.
A high quality trolling motor like those produced by Minn Kota can make the difference between a successful day on the water and a disappointing one. By allowing fishermen to accurately and quietly maneuver to where the fish are, the motors make angling a more precise and enjoyable pastime.

  • Cool, Quiet Power: Nothing runs cooler or more quietly than Minn Kota. Extra large windings and commutators are used to dissipate heat, resulting in cooler operation, extended battery power and longer motor life. A unique bearing system produces low RPMs/high torque to cut down on fish-spooking noise–so quiet they’ll never hear you coming.

Trolling – Methods, equipment and bait

The fact that the fish is known for moving objects strike since the beginning of time man. The proof of this is found all over the world. Polynesians troll pearl masks Hook turtle canoes. Other racing boats from a variety of sail and oar driven controlled, long before the advent of the motor. Now anglers can at different speeds and depths of up to 60 arms with long lines and traces of metal or Troll downriggers.

> Trolling is also productive in salt or fresh water. E 'stands for game fish, but a large number of fish of all sizes and in all water depths recorded. Technological advances in equipment, nautical, navigation aids, depth, water temperature indicators, and fishermen have used the fighting in today's consent to an explosion in the number of trolling fishermen head out to sea, each of the areas of power miles from the coast.

Trolling can be donedead or live bait and lures. The combination bait bait has been developed over the years, with a skirt or a feather can decorate the top of the bait. This can serve two purposes, it is necessary to draw the attention of fish and extend the life of the bait. As bait, measure the water swept through the rock breaks the water in front of the bait fish and reduces the amount of resistance and friction on the bait and offers a streamlined, faster trolling. This action has attracted 'sFish and promotes a strike the bait moving.

Recreational and commercial fishermen and the benefits of the combination of live bait and trolling. Trolling live bait can be particularly effective when bait such as tuna, mackerel or yellow slimy bait in the vicinity of schools are controlled drop-off heights and depths or nearby. is usually carried out at speeds of less than 3 knots, it is better that the line clear of the bar of the fisherman, to maintain awareness of panicMovements of the bait like a predator approaches.

Live baiting is best to do it again with a high or pull and a long period between the fish strike the bait take part freely and, if the hook immediately and running. trolling with dead bait is the most commonly used for -fish bill. Many anglers troll with a combination of live and dead bait and usually at a speed of 3-6 knots.

A method for handling dead bait is the bait hookthe top of the head and throat or stomach. After the strike when the fish is not mounted, the distance along the surface to be called to tease the fish into a second strike. If the bait is cut from a mackerel or wahoo, the hook-up can be achieved when the fish returns for a second strike garbled on the head.

The advantage of trolling with lures that high speed can be controlled and cover more ground and do not disintegrate or break as alive or deadBait. Lure trolling is now troll. Bait trolling can be adjusted in terms of time and thus requires ideal conditions. If the fish is following, but not flashy to attract, it would be better to change the speed of the boat or draw the line at high speed then slow to give the impression of an escape from the fish bait. involvement of Trolling Lure is made with a V or W to reduce the likelihood of the model. The exterior of bait or warning is also marked with the internal linesMovement to approach the boat. We also recommend heavy baits in the middle so that the lighter baits, surface jumping over each other in turn.

Drag should be set and fired on the boat accelerated to strike or to counteract the action of the fish and remove stretch. Bait should be rigged in heavy nylon monofilament or wire traces to avoid cut-off. One advantage of the guide wire is that the wire is well in water and does not detractby the movement of the bait. All baits must be checked within 70 meters from the back of the boat because the propeller wash, the fish in the back of the boat already taken.

Many fish live in the countryside and feed near the bottom. The bait has to go to lower levels. Trolling Distances vary, but where there are underwater obstructions, line-out can be devastating for a lot. If the stimulus is not caught by an obstacle, a dart fish hook with the line enoughbehind an obstacle and cut. Of course, the fish prefer this type of environment with many dead trees and stumps for negotiations.

Surface and shallow diving lures do not work so well as on inland freshwater fish. Inland fishing requires background baits go, floating-diving, and how it can work with a variety of lures deep.

Fishermen who are experts in both techniques tend to use this site to explore the depth of trolling, the type of water andthen for casting and retrieving Resort. Some of the best sea fishing bait in New South Wales, Australia are the clear, upper reaches of rivers near the regions of the western highlands. Native fish thrive in fast-flowing waters with high oxygen content in the countryside, where the water flows at a slower pace.

Crappie season is here!

E 'in February and cabin fever is at its peak. The snow looks good and with warm sunny days, came to jeer at the thought of his time, the tackle box finally receives little attention. Sort and organize the jigs and sinkers, hooks and thieves. Line gets all the roles and the smell of lubricating oil spray shots replaced by the house. Ahhhh, the smells of spring, dandelions and dogwoods with WD-40 and salted mixed worms.

These warm, sunny days will do the trickseasoned crappie fishermen in the thought of his time. You could, however, that we all know fishing is tough, but we go anyway, just to finally fish. It feels good, and it is a good time to work on the water for the errors in your system. It can also be a good time to get a few crappies in the trash so as to be made.

I wanted to share with you a lesson I learned from an old fisherman crappie time to find the records of the season. 'S one of those lessons that you wonder why you hadnot thought of before. In fact, after learning this technique is obvious, but sometimes difficult, I remembered that I actually used the same fishing technique, but also with a timer crappie fishermen older, my grandfather.

I remember starting the boat a 16-foot aluminum V-hull and the smell of old Evinrude as they sputtered to life after a couple of hard pulls. My grandfather was never an anchor. We just relaxed in the middle of the brush pile, and he would keep on a limb. We would likethen dip our Marabou Crappie Jigs, bait only my grandfather always used in every hole, that would fit. Most of the time we started a few records, he moved to the next brush pile, and repeats the process. I remember how boring it was to fish in this way, but we almost always went home with a few crappie and I do not remember ever catching any crappie this small way, but we never got a lot of. My grandfather always said, "everything in moderation." I suspect thatmeant crappie fishing.

I remember a couple of times, if the crappie are not wasted in the brush and trees along the shore and my grandfather no time. If the first couple of brush piles do not produce, he moved from the storage area in front of the V hull of an old Styrofoam minnow bucket and a broom handle wrapped in something to the end and a thread. He would be the thread to the material inside the minnow bucket and then attach the end of the broomstick, with theThe matter eventually into the lake. He would then direct the motor tiller with one hand and a broom handle with the other water all the time to fix the foam minnow bucket. My grandfather told me what he did, but it would be years later before I would understand.

I see my grandfather now, and then looked at what I'm looking like crystal minnow bucket. The view was serious, and just to the left, minnow buckets to get his bearingswhere he knew that the river flowed the channel and then was cross-eyed down his eyes as he chewed the red man in his jaw. Finally, he said, "Ken ok here, but not before a spit of tobacco colored water beside the boat. I was ready before he could say right here man. The peak has been my inspiration, as he has never spit bucket while trying to fish the crystal, only if he brushes, see below. Also, I know he said what he did, but how many lessons he taught me in my youth Ionly really started listening after his death. This lesson was no exception, and even made the application of technology before realizing that my grandfather, who was very old school, was actually rented with electronic brush piles along a flow channel that were too deep to see. It 'was a flash in the minnow bucket and the bucket would be the orange bar to have around the shady group.

I remember him telling me that would be the crappie moving from channel flowshallow water to spawn. He told me that crappie have traveled from one form of coverage to another as they make their way in the shallow waters, even if the journey is longer. All this comes back to me when I lined look crappie in deep water and find a bed in a small contribution orderly queue, which leads straight to the flow channel to decide. This is when I listen to my grandfather, and began jigging a white mask and marabou finally found in 17 meters deep in the middle of a suspensiongreat man made bed involvement.

So the first suggestion that perhaps this is not a deep crappie season, many, but I know that when I tried a deep-water crappie I tried a flow channel. Not to mention the river channel itself does not produce, but some brush, deep water into shallow water off and you have a course that will help your efforts to focus together on such a channel flow, the more likely it is removed to produce someAction.

Locating such a center is not always easy and may take some time to look for the fish finder for crappie magnets. The cover, not so often, it is not in a continuous line. If you want to read the posts after the game and the brush along the river channel and slow your work in shallow water and try to find another pile brush as close to the first, but move to shallow water. In the preseason, when the days are hot but the water is still cold Crappie will use these tripsRoutes to move the cover from shallow to deep water, depending on water temperature as it varies during the day. Hit every spot on the lid to find a few fish and then move with them. If you know of a good spawning area for crappie in your lake, you can create a route, where legal capital falling from beds or brush in a straight line from the shallow waters.

The season is here so go out and use this technique, as I think it will helpcapture more crappie. When my grandfather, these routes with a flasher hummingbirds look so old now needs to be a bit 'easier to identify these potential "hot spots" in some documents of the season.
